LAPORTE COUNTY | Four American flags were reported stolen from flag poles outside LaPorte and near Michigan City.

Charles Glen, a U.S. Navy veteran, reported his flag was removed from his 20-foot flag pole late Wednesday or early Thursday at his home in the 3500 block of West Joliet Road.

"I don't appreciate people stealing stuff from my house -- especially the flag," Glen said.

According to LaPorte County police, another American flag across the street from Glen and at the nearby Door Village Park were removed from poles that same night.

Police yesterday were also contacted by Robert Wozniak, who reported his flag missing from his 20-foot pole in the 9200 block of W. 200 North.

LaPorte County Police Chief Pat Cicero said he believes the thefts are related but no solid leads on who did it have developed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff's office at (219) 326-7700.
