MICHIGAN CITY | On Friday March 1st, Main Street Theatre, has a full night planned with artwork, live Celtic music and an open mic. First Fridays have become the major arts social event in downtown Michigan City linking Art Openings and other events at the Lubeznik Center, the galleries and businesses on Franklin Street Arts District. The art display will consist of children's art from Lake Hills Elementary Art Club and Michigan City Boys and Girls Club. The Open Stage presents all kinds of performances beginning at 8 p.m. timed to follow any major event happening at Lubeznik providing additional affordable entertainment for the evening. The music, with a St. Patrick Day theme, will be provided by Keenan Baxter, playing Celtic music on keyboards beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the theatre’s lobby. Keenan is one of the very few composers in Northwest Indiana to have produced an original Celtic Cd. Patrons can hear Keenan’s unique Celtic versions on the First Friday Art Walk, Friday March 1st in Mainstreet Theatre’s lobby, located at 807 Franklin Street, Michigan City, Indiana.

"After listening to Celtic music on the internet from all over the world, I've come to realize how Keenan's Celtic is very different," stated manager Sue Baxter. "Keenan's Celtic is very well arranged with multiple instrumentation very tight and concise, that's the way Keenan composes all his music," she continued, noting that there will be cds available for purchase that at a special show price of only $10. "If you really want to hear some truly interesting Irish music, you'll want to make it out to the First Friday Art Walk at Mainstreet Theatre."

From Valparaiso Indiana, Grammy Contender Keenan Baxter is a very accomplished musician in his own right, and performs and composes on keyboards. He started producing and composing over 11 years ago. Quite a musical savant, Keenan wrote over 100 songs and had 10 cds before the age of 21. He was also Grammy Contender 2006 in Best Album and Best Record Category. As a producer, he has produced recordings for local rock bands, vocalists, and industry professionals. He also had a song selected by MTV for their "Sweet 16 Show." You can check out more about Keenan’s Celtic music at: where he has photos, videos, ring tones and original Irish songs you can listen to.
