MICHIGAN CITY | Barker Mansion is now taking reservations for the annual Pink Tea set for 3:30 p.m. June 26 and June 30. The cost is $25 by prepaid reservation. A catered menu of savories and sweets is offered and the entertainment is Jill Van Lew presenting “A Musical Walk Through the Civil War."
On both tea days at 2 p.m., a guided tour of the mansion includes a special exhibit, The Golden Age (1880-1920 ) of Literature in Indiana, featuring James Whitcomb Riley, Gene Stratton Porter, Lew Wallace and other Indiana authors. This special exhibit will remain through Sept. 30.
Barker Mansion’s summer guided tour times are 10 and 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays at 631 Washington St. For more information and to make reservations, call (219) 873-1520.
