MICHIGAN CITY | During the month of April, Members Advantage Credit Union collected military donations to send to our troops. Donations where dropped off at both Michigan City and Portage branch locations and during Member’s Advantage Credit Union’s free Community Shred Days on April 20th and 27th. The event was a great success with many donations of shampoo and conditioner, non-perishable food items, doggie treats and toys, and much more being collected.

“We are very proud to send donations to our troops through our Give Back To Our Troops event,” said Frank Beachnau, president of Members Advantage Credit Union. “Members Advantage is humbled by the support and participation from community members and organization volunteers.”

Members Advantage Credit Union paired with Portage and Michigan City High School ROTCs, VFWs, and Supporter’s of the Military to package and deliver donated items to our troops. Members Advantage is grateful to The Wall Gang and the Guardian Riders for escorting donations to Supporter’s of the Military, where donations will be packaged and sent overseas.

Beachnau added that combining the donation drive with the Credit Union’s Shred Days was a huge success in more ways than one. “Our free community shred days were very busy helping the public in safe document shredding and many donations were collected in support of our troops,” said Beachnau.

The Members Advantage Community Shred Days and Give Back to Our Troops events were well attended. All donations will be packaged and sent over seas to help support the troops. Members Advantage is excited to see the continued success of this event in the future.
