MICHIGAN CITY | The public is invited to a meeting designed to help further progress in revitalizing Michigan City's downtown.
A Community Vision Session is scheduled Monday at 7 p.m. in the lower level of City Hall at 100 E. Michigan Blvd.
According to officials, the meeting is part of a series of public input sessions held by HyettPalma, experts in redevelopment who are helping the city with its strategy to further the downtown revitalization.
Mayor Ron Meer said citizens attending should want to offer input on things such as their vision for the downtown in five years and the type of goods and service that should be offered there.
More downtown storefronts being occupied are among the noticeable gains in the downtown from pursuing original strategies formulated five years ago with help from students at Andrews University, Meer said.
