LAPORTE COUNTY | A Mishawaka woman charged with prostitution used Craig's List to arrange a meeting with a Griffith man at a Michigan City-area motel, according to police.
Kourtney Hooper, 21, was charged with prostitution and Robert Bice, 50, was charged with soliciting a prostitute. Both charges are misdemeanors.
According to police, officers working a special patrol early Friday began questioning a man outside a vehicle occupied by a woman in the parking lot of Red Roof Inn along U.S. 421 near I-94.
Police said the Mishawaka woman revealed the man answered her ad on Craig's List and they met once arriving at a price through email exchanges.
Hooper, formerly of LaPorte, told investigators she used Craig's List once before to solicit customers but the service provider, suspicious about the ad, removed it from the site before she was able to line up a customer, police said.
