MICHIGAN CITY | The Michigan City Salvation Army, Al’s Supermarkets, First Trust Credit Union and the Michigan City School Corporation will celebrate 10 years of hosting the Stuff a Bus food drive for the Salvation Army Food Pantry.

Volunteers will be stuffing Michigan City school buses with bags of food donated by the public, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 14. A donation of $5 can purchase a meat voucher, or a bag of groceries for a family in need. To celebrate the “Stuff A Bus” 10-year anniversary, Al’s Grocery Stores will be providing free hot dogs and soft drinks at both store locations.

To add to the fun, there will be on-site radio broadcasts from WE-FM 95.9 (Karwick), and WIMS-AM 1420 Radio (Franklin Street) from 9 a.m. to noon, reminding everyone to help make sure that no one goes hungry. Additionally, through Sept. 13, the public can make a monetary donation or donate non-perishable food items at First Trust’s Michigan City branch at 950 E. U.S. 20. For more information or to volunteer, contact Lieutenants Bill & Taylor Brutto, Head Administrators/Pastors, at the Michigan City Salvation Army at (219) 874-6885, or First Trust Credit Union’s Marketing Department at (219) 877-2290.
