MICHIGAN CITY | Visit Michigan City-LaPorte Convention & Visitors Bureau will be hosting the Second Annual Art of Going Green Fashion Show, which will feature the talented milliner Amanda Joyner of Chef Bizzaro Millinery, design artist Alison Brodhacker of Algal Designs, beach glass jewelry artisans, Linda Mickevicius and Jamie Kessler from Beach Bum Jewels, and Independent Sr Sales Director Julie Wojcik will feature Mary Kay, Inc.’s Botanical Effect Skin Care Line.

The models will be wearing clothing provided by Goose Feathers Gift Gallery and Resale Boutique Revive Consignment Gallery. This fashion show will be embracing social standards by utilizing recycled clothing and accessories.

Dale Cooper, curator and visitor information manager here at the Bureau is in charge and we asked her why she called the show green. She was interested in being kinder to the environment, helping people save money and she wanted to keep the money in LaPorte County. The Bureau is helping people save money, we are helping local merchants, we are helping the people who consign their clothing and we are helping local artists show their wares. "It is green and entertaining at the same time". Dale explained, "Some of the models are from the YMCA Zumba classes that are held here at the Bureau, they are some of our local partners and this year we will have some men modeling". The show is free and everyone is welcome.

Sherri Shelton from Goose Feathers Gift Gallery & Resale Boutique said, "We have chosen designer women's clothing accessories, shoes, and handbags for this show."

Owner Angela Samila, owner of Revive Consignments Gallery was excited to be a part of the show and feature her like new apparel. Angels says, "I can dress you in gently worn, upscale clothing from head to toe".

The fashion show is free and open to the public at Visit Michigan City LaPorte Convention & Visitors Bureau, 4073 S Franklin Street in Michigan City on Friday March 22, 2013, 5:30pm - 7:00pm.
