MICHIGAN CITY | The EAA Chapter 966 is offering an opportunity for children to see the city in a new way as part of its Young Eagles Pilot Program.

Children ages 8 to 17 who are interested in flying in a single-engine aircraft should participate in the free program from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday April 20 at the Michigan City Municipal Airport, 1300 N. Hwy 212.

Participants will receive a short ground school lesson on the basics of flying. They then will meet their pilot and learn about the aircraft before taking a 15- to 20-minute flight around the city. Children will take home a certificate and a picture with their pilot.

To reserve a spot, call (219) 872-0121. A parent or guardian must be present.
