LAPORTE | A 60-year-old Westville man could be looking at prison time after being charged with his second drunk driving offense within the past four months.

Albert Nolan was arraigned Wednesday in LaPorte Circuit Court on Class D felony operating while intoxicated, which carries an up to three-year sentence.

His most recent arrest was on Nov. 21, when he drove away from Crossroads Lounge in Westville, running over a curb and flattening a tire. Police said his car was northbound on U.S. 421 with sparks flying off one of his rims.

In July, Nolan was arrested for operating while intoxicated after he was seen driving slowly and veering over the center line on Ind. 2 near the fairgrounds. During that traffic stop, police said, Nolan pulled into the National Guard Armory parking lot and handed the arresting officer his garage door opener.
