The power to recognize outstanding leadership in local communities now lies with all Northwest Indiana residents.
Nominations are being accepted for the second annual Leaders as Heroes 2013 South Shore Leadership Awards. The awards are meant to honor people who are not necessarily recognized in their sphere for leadership roles they take on in their communities.
The deadline to nominate someone is this Friday. The awards will be presented by the Leadership Northwest Indiana program at 6 p.m. April 26 at Avalon Banquet Center in Merrillville.
Ideal nominees have made an impact on a community, and most likely on a regional level with notable results.
LNI is seeking leaders who have made a significant impact and show great potential in what they will continue to do with their leadership, but who have received little to no recognition for their efforts.
Nominations will be accepted at www.leadershipnwi.org. The inaugural Leaders as Heroes awards banquet in April 2012 drew a crowd of 300 key leaders from throughout the seven-county region. During the evening, 10 individuals were honored with custom-designed awards depicting the impact of their leadership.
This year is expected to draw an even larger crowd as the appreciation for great leadership and its impact in our communities grows. Sponsorships are available.
