HAMMOND | A Lake Village man was sentenced to five years in prison Friday after pleading guilty to heroin dealing.

U.S. District Court Judge Rudy Lozano handed down the sentence to Jason Rossiter, 30, in Hammond federal court Friday.

Rossiter also will be required to serve three years of supervised release following his prison sentence.

Rossiter was charged along with eight others in a heroin ring operating in the Newton County area, federal authorities said.
