ROSELAWN | A Lake Village woman was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries Monday after a crash at Ind. 10 and Ind. 55 near Roselawn, police said.
Tammy Rendant, 51, was extricated from her pickup truck after it was struck by a semi, according to a news release from the Newton County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities responded to a crash at 3:37 p.m. involving two vehicles and a semitrailer.
An investigation showed Larry Jeffers, 54, of El Paso, Texas, was driving the semi east on Ind. 10 at the intersection with Ind. 55 when he failed to stop and hit the driver's side door of Rendant's white Ford Ranger pickup truck.
The semi continued east and collided head-on with a silver car occupied by Telisha Howard, 24, and her 2-year-old daughter, both of Lake Village, police said.
Howard and her daughter's injuries were not life-threatening, police said. They were taken to Franciscan St. Anthony Health hospital.
The semi driver was not hurt. The crash remains under investigation, police said.
