GOODLAND | Police arrested a local man after another man allegedly tried to steal his stash of marijuana.
Newton County sheriff's deputies responded to the 500 block of South Central Avenue for a burglary in progress on Oct. 4 to find more than half a pound of suspected marijuana, according to a news release.
Officers were called after Danny Limer caught Carson Anello allegedly trying to steal marijuana from his home.
As police arrested Anello, 22, of Goodland, for burglary they noticed drug paraphernalia in the home and conducted a search.
Limer, 47, of Goodland, was arrested after the search led police to the nearly half pound of marijuana.
Anello is being held at the Newton County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond for burglary and Limer is being held on a $2,500 cash bond, accused of dealing marijuana over 30 grams.
