Two men were injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday on Ind. 10 near Roselawn, police said.

James Rasmussen, 46, of DeMotte, was driving west on Ind. 10 in a 2003 Mercury passenger car about 5 a.m. when he went left of center and collided with a 1999 Mack semitrailer near County Road 100 East, according to Newton County sheriff's police.

Eric Philipps, 27, of Schererville, the driver of the semi, and Rasmussen were taken to Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, police said.

Officers arriving on scene found the semi overturned and blocking both lanes of Ind. 10. The Mercury sustained heavy front-end damage.

Police shut down Ind. 10 between U.S. 41 and Ind. 55 for about eight hours for investigation and cleanup.
