LAKE VILLAGE | A semi crashed into a house at 4310 W. Ind. 10 on Wednesday, officials said.

William F. Bankston, 42, of Derby, Kan., was driving a 2003 semi west on Ind. 10 when the vehicle left the road and hit a utility pole, according to a news release from the Newton County Sheriff's Office. The impact caused the semi to hit some trees and the corner of a house.

The semi came to a stop against a nearby garage, the Sheriff's Office said. No one from the two homes affected was injured.

Bankston was unconscious after the crash. He later told officers he was feeling lightheaded and was pulling the vehicle to the side of the road when the crash happened.

Sheriff's officials don't believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
