MERRILLVILLE, IN - Pamela Lee Sonnenberg Paprstein Holland, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at South Lake Methodist Hospital in Merrillville, IN following a long history of congestive heart failure.
She was loving mother to Sandi (Jeff) Salamone, Susan (Brent) Doctor, Mike (Heather) Paprstein, Tammy (George) Nicholas and late son Charles (Chuck) Holland; and beloved grandmother to twelve beautiful grandchildren.
She was born and raised in Lowell, IN, the daughter of Cecil and Beatrice Sonnenberg. After graduating from Lowell High School in 1966, she married Ted Paprstein and became a homemaker before getting licensed in real estate. She divorced and later remarried Ron Holland of Alma, AR in 1980. They were married for 37 years and resided in Lake Eufaula, OK. She owned her own video store, Lakeside Video. In 2009 they moved to Ft. Wayne, IN five minutes from her daughter, Susan, where she often attended service at Emanuel Lutheran Church (Soest). They had property at Yogi Bear Campground in Pierceton, IN where they were surrounded by many dear friends.
She recently moved to Merrillville after the passing of her husband in September of 2017 to be closer to her daughter Sandi and son Mike. She looked forward to attending The Salvation Army Chapel (Munster-Hammond, IN Corp) each Sunday.
Mrs. Holland was known for her smile, kindness and Love. She made friends everywhere and always made sure people did not feel like a stranger. She loved her dog, Dusty, and cat, Brat. She loved to read, plant flowers, do puzzles and enjoy time with her family.
Visitation will be held at GEISEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN 46410, on Sunday, May 27, 2018 from 12:00 noon until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m., Pastor Douglas Klukken officiating.
Pamela's wishes are, in lieu of flowers, that donations are made to The Salvation Army (Munster-Hammond Corp) in her memory.
