W. Scott Robertson always enjoyed laughing with those he cared about.
“He was very loving,” his wife, Debbie Robertson, said. “He loved his friends and family and had a great sense of humor. He was very silly.”
The Robertson’s had been married four years and were a couple longer than that, she said.
“He was a wonderful husband,” Debbie Robertson said.
Robertson, 65, of Crown Point, died Feb. 25.
Robertson’s favorite thing was the breakfast club at Bronko’s -- which he founded, Debbie Robertson said.
“He loved that group of guys,” she said. “They just had the best time every single morning talking and betting on ‘The Price is Right.’ They used to have so much fun.”
Debbie Robertson said the group of about 10 retirees had been meeting for more than five years.
For health reasons, Robertson retired from ESAB, a welding and equipment company in 2006, where he was a salesman.
“He liked sales and could sell anything,” Debbie Robertson said.
The couple and their family enjoyed boating and impromptu road trips.
“He had a boat that he adored and he loved taking it out every sunny day on Lake Michigan,” Debbie Robertson said. “We watched the fireworks and the air and water show from the boat. That was our favorite.”
The road trips took the Robertson’s to Saugatuck Michigan and South Carolina “at the drop of a hat.” Debbie Robertson said.
“He liked to stay busy,” she said.
Most of all she will miss her husband’s sense of humor.
“He made me laugh every day,” Debbie Robertson said. “And I will miss that.”
