Marilyn Meznarick was a fantastic human being who was a joy to be with and who cared deeply about everyone she knew, said her son, Frank Meznarick.
“She loved being involved in the lives of her family and activities with her friends," her son said.
Marilyn Meznarick, 79, of Crown Pint, died July 28. She worked 25 years at the Lake County auditor’s office and was active in the Lake County Women’s Democratic Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Meznarick, in 2005.
She had five children, 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Despite keeping busy with her family, she always found time to help others, her son said. She donated to numerous charities and participated in political activities.
“Her favorite was St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital,” he said. “She made several trips to spend time there helping.”
She golfed regularly in leagues. She also helped organize her church’s golf league.
“Since sitting still was not her forte, she kept active in the cold months by partaking in bowling,” Frank Meznarick said.
She also enjoyed going to casinos. Although she liked going to the local casinos, she also enjoyed traveling to other casinos with her friends.
“She treasured trying different restaurants while traveling,” he said. “She thoroughly enjoyed critiquing those establishments.”
She loved to travel, from Las Vegas to the Vatican. She always made time to visit friends and family who lived out of town, her son said.
“She was a fantastic human being who will be deeply missed by everyone she knew,” Frank Meznarick said. “Mankind has lost a wonderful person, but as He knows, God has received a great person. And now He has someone to help him get organized.”
