WHITING, IN - Estela S. Flores, 89 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Community Hospital, Munster. She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Flores who passed away April 3, 2003; loving mother of Jose (Judy)Flores, late Tony Flores, Paul (Beverly) Flores, Sylvia (Mike) Jakubczyk, Merida Hubbartt, Carlos (Arlene) Flores, Lupe (Helen) Flores, Connie (Boyd) Reedus and Estela (Jeff) Waszak; cherished grandmother of twenty-three; adoring great grandma of fifteen; dearest sister of Juanita (late Enrique) Ortiz , George (late Maria) Flores, Rafael (Nita) Flores and the late Eleno (Maria) Flores and Yolanda (Elias) Flores; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Mike and Chris Stribiak.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018, 9:30a.m. at the BARAN FUNERAL HOME, 1235-119th St., Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Whiting, with the Rev. Stanley J. Dominik, officiating; interment, St. John Cemetery, Hammond; visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00p.m.

Estela Flores was born on October 6, 1928 in Carrizo Springs, Texas and was a resident of Whiting for the past 50 years. She and her husband, Jose, loved to dance the Polka and she loved Whiting's Pierogi Fest. She enjoyed going to the Red Lobster (thank you Mark and Cathy) and was a former employee of the Fagen Pharmacy, Whiting with over 20 years of service. Devoted to her family, Estela will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
