HIGHLAND, IN - Frances Cecelia (nee Matczak) Grodzicki (Grady) of Highland, IN originally from the South Side of Chicago, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 peacefully, surrounded by love. She is survived by her best friend and husband of 64 years John; daughters: Mickie (Bob) Thomas, Barbara (Fred) Belligio; grandchildren Torie (Dave) Schaefer, John Sierzega, Andy Sierzega, Brent Belligio, Briana Belligio, Alex (Michelle) Belligio; great grandchildren: Kate, Ally and Mady Schaefer. Frances was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Helen Matczak, sister Addie Lorent and brother Ted Matczak. Surviving sister Sylvia Matczak and brother Al Matczak. Many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends may comfort the family on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at KISH FUNERAL HOME 10000 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN. 46321 (219) 924-3333. Viewing and Funeral Masswill be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2017 at St. James the Lesser Catholic Church 9640 Kennedy Ave. Highland, IN 46322 with Rev. Keith Virus officiating.

Frances loved being with her family, the many friends she made over the years loved her. Her greatest passion was baking and hosting Holiday, family and friend dinner parties. She was a sweet, fair, gentle, kind woman who loved unconditionally. Frances treasured her Polish heritage and enjoyed dancing to a polka or waltz with husband John. Their marriage of 64 years is a beautiful love story to all who knew them. She taught her family more in this life than we could ever thank her for.
