Donna Taylor was “a true angel” who had a positive outlook on life and saw the good in everyone, said her husband, John Taylor.
“She was a true sweetheart,” he said. “She never got mad at anyone, and if she did, it was over right away.”
Donna Taylor, 49, of Hobart, died Aug. 31. She had worked at U.S. Steel Medical Center as an administrative assistant. She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church and a 1981 graduate of Hobart High School.
She loved her job, and considered her coworkers part of her family.
“She looked forward to going to work each day,” he said.
John Taylor said his wife always remembered people’s birthdays, and remembered if they made comments during the year about gifts they would like to receive.
She loved cooking and baking, and often made soup for people. She also loved to make barbeque meatloaf cups and chicken and dumplings, he said.
The family lived on the Hobart parade route, so she loved having people over for July 4 festivities, he said.
“It was always a big to-do for her,” he said. “She just loved it.”
She enjoyed traveling, and loved Las Vegas and going to New York for Broadway plays. She also enjoyed going to Florida in the winter, her husband said.
She loved being a mother to her children.
“She wasn’t just a parent to Mike and Taryn, but a true best friend to them,” her husband said. “It was all about family.”
