Emily J. Bartholomew (nee Kolodziejczyk), age 79, of Highland, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2002. Survived by two sons, Kenneth Bartholomew of Highland and David Bartholomew of Schererville; three daughters, Judith Bartholomew, Barbara Bartholomew and Eileen Bartholomew, all of Highland. Preceded in death by her husband Harold, in 1995, and three sisters.

EuGeane Bonhama, 23, of East Chicago passed away Monday, November 18, 2002. Survived by his loving mother, DeAnna Bonhama (Darryl) Smith; father, Eugene Stanley; three brothers, Darryl Bonhama, Robert Smith and Jonathan Smith. He leaves behind a loving son, Elijah EuGeane Bonhama with Irene Vargas; grandmothers, Marie Gant, Bessie Smith (Frank) Faulkner and Audrey Jackson and a host of aunts,uncles, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his grandfather R.P. Jackson, and grandmother, Marlene Theresa Bonhama.

Survived by two sons, Glenn Edward (Sue) Brandon of FL, Roy (Sharon) Brandon of DeMotte; one daughter Nancy Elaine (Leon) Snow of Highland; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Margaret (late Leon) Van Orman of Maryland. Preceded in death by husband Glenn in 1984.

Marie C. Carpenter, age 89 or Valparaiso, IN, formerly of LaPorte, IN, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at Porter Memorial Hospital. She was a life long resident of LaPorte. Born September 12, 1913 in LaPorte to Belle (Way) and John Ehrick who preceded her. She was married on January 1, 1939 in Westville, IN to Robert Dean Carpenter who preceded June 7, 1991. She was a member of Door Village United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Pinola Grange.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Jones of Valparaiso, IN. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Leo and Harold Ehrick.
Services will be at Haverstock Funeral Home on Saturday, November 23, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Jeff Jones officiating. Burial at Door Village Cemetery, LaPorte, IN. Doris C. Cole (nee Horst) of Lansing, IL passed away Tuesday, November 19,2002. Loving mother to Ann and James. Beloved sister to Margaret McCarthy, Ruth C. Meisterling-Cummings, Eileen Quebec, Lillian McMullin and Donald Horst. Doris was a member of the Lansing Senior Citizens, St. Ann's Ladies Club, and the Columbian Ladies. She was retired from Zeger's after 14 years of service.

Fred A. Colosimo, age 90, of Crown Point passed away at St. Anthony Franciscan Home, Tuesday, November 19, 2002. He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Church. A 1932 graduate of Lew Wallace High School, lifetime member of NACCCA, worked for various Northwest Indiana lumber, construction and home building companies as a Salesman, Estimator, Draftsman and Consultant. He is survived by one sister, Mary Romano of Crown Point; three nieces, Carolyn (Dino) Favretto of Merrillville; Joan Cvitkovich of Schaumberg, IL; Donna (Daniel) Kassens of Des Plaines, IL; two nephews, Frank (Angie) Nuzzo and John Romano, both of Crown Point; many other cousins, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews and friends.

George W. Douglas
George W. Douglas, 96 of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at the Life Care Center. He was born February 27, 1906 in Shawnee, Oklahoma the son of Dr. George R. and Maude (Vincent) Douglas. Mr. Douglas was an athlete at Valparaiso High School and graduated in 1924. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1928 and the University of Chicago Law School in 1930 and practiced law in Gary with Draper and Draper. In 1937 he came to Valparaiso. He served as City Attorney under Mayor Conover from 1944 to 1948. He was at one time in Partnership with his sons Herb, James and Bruce and practiced law until his retirement in 1996.
Mr. Douglas was preceded in death by his wives Betty Knapp Douglas, October 2, 1960 and Marion Filgiano Douglas, March 4, 1999 and a son Bruce Douglas who was Porter County Superior Court Judge, November 5, 1989, his parents, a brother Herb Douglas and a sister, Mary Whiting also preceded him in death. Surviving are three sons, Herb (Sharon) Douglas and James (Catherine) Douglas, Prosecutor for Porter County, both of Valparaiso and Robert (Janet) Douglas of LaJolla, CA.; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Annie Edmonds age 72, of East Chicago, IN, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2002 at home. "Cuney" Kaiser of Crown Point and much loved daughter-in-law, Frances; grandson, Carl S.(Mary) Kaiser of Crown Point; granddaughter, Sherri (Michael) Ham of Crown Point; Great Grandchildren, Jordan, Justin & Jacquelyn Ham, Richelle Kaiser, Mary K & James Anderson, Virginia cherished her dear friends and neighbors. Mrs. Kaiser was a member of the Southlake Christian Church. She was a Montgomery Ward retiree and and Crown Point Community schools Cashier retiree. A Volunteer and member of the Old Lake County Court House Foundation, the Lake County Historical Society, past President, as well as, honorary of the Crown Point Federated Woman's Club, a member of Gary Emerson High School Alumni Association and contributed to their annual newsletter "From Gold to Grey." She established Montgomery Wards Village Reunion Group. A member of the Crown Point Gold Key Bridge Club, also, A.A.R.P. Chapter 3210 in Crown Point. Mrs. Kaiser had been active in Boy Scouts. She served as first den mother of Pack 48 in 1948, at the Crown point Presbyterian Church.

Jacob J. Kochis, of Dyer, IN, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at the Community Hospital in Munster. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Kochis; one sister, Anne Yatsko, of Hammond IN; one brother, Paul (Stella) Kochis of Hammond; sisters-in-law, Florence and Janet Kochis of Munster; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Hammond. He served in the US Navy during WWII for 3 years, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th degree, he was a member of the Holy Name Society of the St Thomas More Parrish, he was a director of the Briar Ridge Property Owners Assoc., he was a recipient of the Notre Dame "Man of the Year" Award, and he also recieved the St. Joseph the Worker Award from Calumet College. He was a former District Govenor and International Trustee of the Calumet area Serra Club. He was a Life Trustee of the Serra Club of Hammond. He was retired from the Calumet and Portage Electric Supply Companies where he served as President. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Christ Burse Fund for the Education of Seminarians to study for the Priesthood and Religious Life or for Holy Masses for all the departed. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and many friends.
