Kenneth Anello had a firm set of beliefs but was always willing to help others, said his brother, Sam Anello.
“He was intense in what he believed,” his brother said. “He was conservative and very opinionated. But he was very giving with other people.”
Kenneth Anello, 53, of Valparaiso, died Dec. 15. He worked 35 years with Alpha Owens-Corning in Valparaiso as a chemical engineer and customer service manager.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Anello.
Kenneth Anello loved music, especially Pete Townsend.
“Anytime he had a chance to go to a concert, he would go,” he said.
He loved computers, and was a “super computer geek.”
“He gave me my first computer,” Sam Anello said. “He loved video games, too, and had every game console you could imagine.”
He valued his privacy and his freedom, his brother said.
Kenneth Anello loved going to the Viking Chili Bowl on U.S. 30 for breakfast on weekends and on the holidays.
Sam Anello said his brother lived across the street from him, and wasn’t married and didn’t have any children of his own. But he loved to come visit and play with Sam Anello’s grandchildren.
Sam Anello said he respected his brother for the compassion he showed people.
“He was a real helpful person,” he said. “He was willing to help anyone, as long as that person was willing to help themselves.”
