SOUTH HAVEN

SUNDAY

Vandalism. Paul Saylor Elementary reported $60 damage to a window screen.

PORTAGE

THURSDAY

Theft. Jessica Cotton of South Haven reported her purse, which contained a $100 cellular phone, was stolen from her vehicle at Applebee's in Portage. Her credit cards were used for $657 in purchases.

Vandalism. Portage police said a suspect abandoned a truck at M&R Trucking on U.S. 20 and may have caused $2,000 damage to five tires. The suspect, whose name was not released, is wanted in Wisconsin for a similar act.

FRIDAY

Theft. Kenneth Mattie of Akron, Ohio reported the theft of tools and an industrial vacuum from a vehicle outside Days Inn in Portage.

Theft. Judi Jozwiak of Stone Avenue reported the theft of a $50 gargoyle from in front of her home.

Theft. Connie Walker of Jellystone Park reported the theft of a $100 bicycle.

Vandalism. Christine Trinidad of Juniper Road reported apples were thrown at her siding, causing $300 damage.

SATURDAY

Theft. Brandie Thiel of Buckeye Street reported the theft of a stereo and compact discs from her vehicle. The loss is $100.

Theft. A juvenile was arrested for stealing a $201 bicycle from a Portage juvenile at Mulberry and Irving in Portage.

MONDAY

Theft. Shawn Deanecelli, 23, of 5310 Concord, Portage, was arrested on a theft charge after he was accused of stealing $1,000 worth of cigarettes over several days from Speedway on Central Avenue.

Theft. Jeff Smith of Boulder Avenue reported the theft of stereo equipment from his vehicle. The loss is $1,200.

Theft. James Oliver of Robbins Road reported the theft of a $100 car stereo.

Vandalism. Ruth Collazo of Swanson Road reported $50 damage to her apartment.

Theft. Michael Murray of County Road 500 West reported the theft of a vehicle license plate.

Theft. Cassandra Thomas of west U.S. 6 reported the theft of a Playstation, games and jewelry from her home, a $500 loss.

Burglary. Sue Swelfer reported the theft of a $500 water softener from a burned out home on County Road 50 South.

Theft. Darcy Orzech of Coolwood Drive reported the theft of a $200 television from her garage.

Burglary. Albert and Barbara Myers of County Road 400 East reported the theft of $1,400 worth of cash and coins from their home.

Vandalism. Jeremy Parris of Park Avenue in Wheeler reported $300 damage to his windshield.

FRIDAY

Theft. Geckler and Sons of Michigan City reported the theft of a fireplace and construction material from a home under construction at Louisiana and Pinney in Pine Township. The loss is $1,854.

CHESTERTON

FRIDAY

Theft. Ryan Kirkwood of Dunewood Drive reported the theft of $460 worth of compact discs from his vehicle.

Counterfeit bill. Chesterton police said Fifth Third Bank found a counterfeit $20 bill in a deposit from Porter Kwik Mart.

SUNDAY

Attempted theft. Commercial Audio Systems of north Calumet Road reported $500 damage during vehicle break-ins at the business.

Theft. MC Tours of Missoula, Mont. reported the theft of three duffel bags and a stereo from a vehicle outside Econo Lodge in Chesterton. MC Tours travels the country doing shows for children. The loss is $730.

Burglary. Midwest Builders of Chesterton reported the theft of $2,130 worth of items from a home under construction on Putter Parkway in Chesterton.
