LAKE STATION | An Illinois man driving too quickly Wednesday on the curved eastbound ramp from Interstate 80 to the Indiana Toll Road caused his semitruck to roll over, police said.

The crash happened at 12:30 p.m. as Reymundo C. Ramirez, 47, of Alsip, Ill., drove too fast on the ramp, causing his semitruck to roll over onto the driver's side, Indiana State Police said.

Ramirez was hauling 35,000 pounds of pine wood from California, according to a news release from police. The load was not lost, but the crash caused troopers to close the ramp for about two hours.

The 2005 Freightliner is owned by Jet Transport, which is based in Chicago.
