Criminal mischief. Vehicle for sale set on fire at 500 E. U.S. 20.

Theft. White Yamaha golf cart taken from the 1400 block of Happy Valley Drive.

PORTAGE

FRIDAY

Intoxication. David D. Burns, 20, of Chesterton, was arrested on charges of public intoxication and minor consuming after being hit by a car on U.S. 20. He was medically cleared and then taken into custody.

SATURDAY

Drinking party. 6735 Fifield Court. Four adults, four juveniles arrested at an underage drinking party. Arrested were Christopher C. Lindsay, 18, Vincent A. Lasniewski, 20, and Kent R. Grashel, 18, all of Portage, on underage drinking charges. Tayler Hussain, 19, of Portage, was charged with possession of marijuana.

Shoplifting. Kmart, 6050 U.S. 6. DVDs, some socks, a tote, groceries, a rocket and cash worth $157.98 reported taken. Joseph P. Lonergan, 18, arrested.

SUNDAY

Theft. Poinsettia and Carnation. Police arrested Cory A. Kurth, 18, on theft and false informing charges. Also arrested two juveniles after officers spotted them looking into vehicle windows. Police said the had taken medication from a vehicle.

PORTAGE TOWNSHIP

FRIDAY

Theft. Two bicycles taken from front yard in the 700 block of Baltimore Road.

Theft. CDs and change taken from vehicle parked in a driveway in the 700 block of Henderson.

Theft. Credit card, gift cards, Social Security card, driver's license, disposable camera, wallet and checkbook taken from car in the 700 block of Fox River Road.

Criminal mischief. Car was vandalized in the 700 block of McCool Road.

VALPARAISO

SUNDAY

Burglary. PassTimes, 157 Lincolnway. Police reports state a screen was torn and a window was broken to gain entry to a safe at the business. An unknown amount of cash was reported taken.

Burglary. Guns and jewelry worth $15,000 were reported stolen from a home in the 2200 block of Sturdy Road.
