South Central has been designated as a Best Buy school for producing the greatest academic achievements per dollar of taxpayers' money.

The junior and high school curriculum offers new courses in honors programs in seventh- and eighth-grade English, math and a communications class to broadcast school news via new technology.

Students have the opportunity to take dual high school/college credit courses.

The elementary school has added classrooms, and additional computer labs have been created.

South Central offers full-day kindergarten and a Student Support Committee to assist in grade-to-grade transition. Parents have access to daily homework assignments and contact with their child's teachers.

The school has added vocal music and drama classes. Interventions for students who need additional teacher-assisted help are available three days a week.

Extracurricular activities include cross-country, football, volleyball, basketball, strength training and weightlifting, track and field, golf, baseball, softball, cheerleading and pom pom squads.
