The dedication of the new Lacrosse Public Library is at 2 p.m. Saturday. The community is invited to attend at 307 E. Main St. in LaCrosse. An open house will follow to allow people to view the many amenities offered at the large, new building. The library has many new programs including preschool story hour at 10 a.m. each Wednesday.
The monthly library board meeting is at 6 p.m. the third Monday of the month.
Blood pressure testing is done at 9:30 a.m. the first Friday of the month.
The Visiting Nurse Association will give flu shots from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the LaCrosse Public Library.
Flu shots will be given from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 9 at the Wanatah Town Hall, 104 N. Main St.
The Wanatah Scarecrow Festival runs from Friday through Sunday. Check out the arts and crafts booths, entertainment tent V, food booths, antiques, talent contest, children's games, shuttle service from Scarecrow Square to the American Legion and the school, 5K and 3k races. A car show is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., sponsored by the Michiana Antique Auto Club on Sunday.
The Friday pork chop dinner and the Saturday fish fry will be at the elementary school from 4 to 7:30 p.m. both days.
Breakfast will be served from 7 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Sunday at Sacred heart Catholic Church.
Merchants' prizes will be awarded at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday.
The South Central Parent Teachers organization will meet at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 5. All parents are invited to participate and make decisions and brainstorm ideas for activities.
Open swim begins from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 6 and each Tuesday and Thursday. The cost is $1 per student and $2 for adults. Children must be accompanied by an adult. A callout meeting will be held at 3 p.m . Oct. 1 for anyone interested in lifeguarding.

Auditions for the elementary school talent show are Sept. 30 in the cafeteria until 4:30 p.m. Bring music, props for the two minute talent. On Oct. 2 practice on the stage until 4:30 p.m.
The show, South Cental has got talent" will begin at 6 p.m. Oct. 5. Performers must be at the school by 5:50 p.m. Performers sit in the front row. Talent forms must be in the office by Sept. 25. No late forms will be accepted.
