Porter-Starke Services, a provider of mental health services in Northwest Indiana for more than 35 years, invites the public for a mental health and substance abuse breakfast, "Living Health, Balance, & Hope" on Aug. 27. Keynote speaker Steve Ford, actor and son of Gerald and Betty Ford, speaks personally about his life, challenged with mental health issues and substance abuse. Championing the importance of character, integrity, and making the right choices, Ford's experience demonstrates the transformational power of the human spirit and living a life centered on health, balance and hope.
The business and general community are invited to the breakfast held at Valparaiso University's Harre Union from 8 to 10 a.m. Tickets for the breakfast are $50 a person.
This event benefits the Porter-Starke Services Foundation and is the "kick-off" event of its 2010 Changing Minds Community Campaign. Registration can be done online at www.porterstarke.org or over the phone by calling (219) 531-3510. For more information visit www.porterstarke.org or email conference@porterstarke.org.
