Big Fat Greek Mardi Gras
St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church will hold its Big Fat Greek Mardi Gras beginning at 11 a.m. today at the church, 7021 Hohman Ave., Hammond. There will be lamb, chicken pastitsio, lemon rice soup and Greek salads along with a taste of Greek pastries, loukomades and a bundt cake sale. Feeding the flock

Pancake breakfast planned
St. Florian School is hosting a pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the gym at 131st Street and Houston Avenue in Chicago's Hegewisch neighborhood. The cost for the breakfast is $6 for adults and $4 for ages 4 to 11. Children 3 and younger eat for free. This will feature all-you-can-eat pancakes, Belgian waffles, eggs and sausage.
