Big Fat Greek Mardi Gras

St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church will hold its Big Fat Greek Mardi Gras beginning at 11 a.m. today at the church, 7021 Hohman Ave., Hammond. There will be lamb, chicken pastitsio, lemon rice soup and  Greek salads along with a taste of Greek pastries, loukomades and a bundt cake sale. A presentation on Orthodoxy will be held at 4:30 p.m. Call (219) 932-7347.

Feeding the flock

Every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. several churches partner to serve a free community meal and fellowship which is open to everyone at 7898 Taft St., Merrillville. Call (219) 736-0707.

Psalm project concert

Psalm Project free concert begins at 7 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 3500 Glenwood-Lansing Road, Lansing. This Dutch musical group sets the words from the psalms to contemporary music. Call (708) 474-9336.

FBC new pastor presentation

First Baptist Church of East Chicago will hold services at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday to present Pastor Douglas C. Sloss to the community as its new senior pastor-teacher at 4911 McCook Ave., East Chicago. Call (219) 398-0758.

Pancake breakfast planned

St. Florian School is hosting a pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the gym at 131st Street and Houston Avenue in Chicago's Hegewisch neighborhood. The cost for the breakfast is $6 for adults and $4 for ages 4 to 11. Children 3 and younger eat for free. This will feature all-you-can-eat pancakes, Belgian waffles, eggs and sausage. Wild game dinner
