Among the music for the evening is the anthem “The Sky Can Still Remember” by 1966 Valpo graduate Russell Schulz-Widmar. This piece has been commissioned for the Kantorei in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Chapel of the Resurrection.

The 7 p.m. service is designed specifically for the Northwest Indiana community, and will feature several prominent community leaders as readers. Members of the campus community will serve as readers at the 10 p.m. service.

Assured seating cards are available in the Chapel office from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Cards also may be ordered phone at (219) 464-5096, via e-mail to chris.boshoven@valpo.edu or by mailing a request to the Chapel of the Resurrection, Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, IN 46383. Only those with assured seating cards will be seated prior to 6:50 p.m. and 9:50 p.m.

There is no limit to the number of seating cards that may be requested.

In conjunction with the Vespers service, the artwork of Michelle Arnold Paine, a contemporary painter, will be shown in the Chapel from Nov. 30 through Dec. 18, and can be viewed after the services. Paine also will serve as artist-in-residence at the Chapel Dec. 7 to 11 and will give a talk about her work Dec. 9 at 8 p.m. in the Chapel.
