CHESTERTON | At Sand Creek Country Club’s Labor Day Celebration, held Sunday, September 1, Aliyah Carrabello was honored by being selected to receive the Alice Wesson Scholarship. The Alice Wesson Scholarship Fund is in honor of Alice Wesson, a beloved Sand Creek employee for eighteen years, who tragically lost her life in an automobile accident September 1, 2000. In her memory, a scholarship fund was established to benefit her heirs, Sand Creek employees, and their children.
Aliyah has been with Sand Creek since May of 2012 when she was hired in Sand Creek’s housekeeping department. Aliyah is a very mature and respectful young lady with an exceptional work ethic. She has a positive attitude and is always willing to help out wherever needed. When Aliyah is assigned a task, her supervisor stated, “I know it will be done and done well”.
Aliyah graduated in June from Chesterton High School and is currently attending Carthage College studying Public Relations and French. She hopes to one day become an Advertising Executive. Aliyah is the daughter of Toya Garcia.
