CHESTERTON | Join Cyndie McKinney for Bookmarks at the Museum at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Westchester Township History Museum, 700 W. Porter Ave. Refreshments will be served.
"The End of Your Life Book Club," written by Will Schwalbe, takes the reader into the lives of the author’s family. During her treatment for cancer, Mary Anne Schwalbe and her son will spend hours sitting in waiting rooms together. To pass the time, they would talk about books they were reading. Once, by chance, they read the same book at the same time – and an informal book club of two was born.
Bookmarks takes place on the third Thursday of the month at the museum and on the third Friday of the month at Michigan City Public Library, 100 E. 4th St.
It is not necessary to read the book before attending. Books are available at both Thomas and Hageman Libraries.
The museum, a free cultural and educational service of Westchester Public Library, is open to the public 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday, or by appointment. Call (219) 983-9715 for more information.
