CHESTERTON | Join Hilda Demuth-Lutze for Bookmarks at the Museum at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Westchester Township History Museum, 700 W. Porter Ave. Demuth-Lutze will review "Flight Behavior" by Barbara Kingsolver. Refreshments will be served.
In the story, Dellarobia Turnbow is a restless farm wife in Tennessee who encounters a shocking sight: a silent, forested valley filled with what looks like a lake of fire. This cautionary miracle sparks other explanations from scientists, religious leaders and the media.
Bookmarks takes place on the third Thursday of the month at the museum and on the third Friday of the month at Michigan City Public Library, 100 E. Fourth St.
It is not necessary to read the book before attending. Books are available at both Thomas and Hageman libraries.
The museum, a free cultural and educational service of Westchester Public Library, is open to the public from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays, or by appointment. Call (219) 983-9715 for more information.
