CHESTERTON | Members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County-Duneland Unit’s VOICE group spent a day in Indianapolis to petition lawmakers on smoke-free policy. The club members visited the Indiana State Capitol Building with other youth from across the state who participates in VOICE.
Duneland club member Julia Gonzalez delivered a speech at the state Capitol, urging lawmakers to strengthen the smoke-free laws in Indiana and to increase funding to tobacco prevention programs.
VOICE is a youth led anti-tobacco movement in Indiana which strives to educate and prevent young Hoosiers from becoming smokers.
