Discovery fifth graders get wet
CHESTERTON | Discovery Charter School has once again teamed up with the Chesterton Storm Water Quality Program to teach students about water quality. Fifth grade students engaged in several activities which promoted the importance of water quality. One activity allowed students to travel between stations and experience different elements of the water cycle while collecting beads to make a water cycle bracelet. Another activity allowed students the chance to learn about runoff using an Enviroscape to simulate how various types of pollution enter into our water supply. Additionally, students participated in a macroinvertebrate (aquatic bug) activity as well as a water quality bingo game which incorporated the various water quality terms.
