CHESTERTON | A Northwest Indiana-based improvisational comedy group is offering an 8-week improvisation workshop for adults beginning Sept. 8.
The workshops will meet at the Fourth Street Theater from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sundays through Oct. 27.
“Our improv comedy classes have been filled with students from across Northwest Indiana since we started offering them last year. The interest in improv comedy is growing, especially with the return of shows like 'Whose Line is it Anyway?' on television,” said Bob Craig, the director of Disposable Theatre and instructor for the classes.
The workshops cover the basics of improvisation; creating scenes, building an understanding of improvisation, performance games and stimulating creativity. There will be more advanced classes offered in the future and there may be performance opportunities with Disposable Theatre.
Tuition for the workshop is $100 and class size is limited to a minimum of eight and a maximum of 12 students. This class is for adults (college-age and up) only.
Send an email to email@example.com to register for the class or to ask any questions regarding the class.
The workshops will be taught by Bob Craig. Craig has been teaching, studying and performing improv for more than 20 years. He has studied at The Second City Conservatory program and at IO (formerly ImprovOlympic) and performed with Broad Shoulders Productions and TheatreSports in Chicago. He is the director and founder of Disposable Theatre.
The Fourth Street Theater is located at 125 N. Fourth St. Visit Disposable Theatre’s website at disposable-theatre-improv.com for more information about the group and upcoming performances.
