CHESTERTON | Northwest Indiana’s improv comedy group is offering a three-week improvisation workshop for adults beginning on July 14.
The workshops will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Sundays at the Fourth Street Theater July 14, 21 and 28.
“We’ve seen a growing interest in learning how to improvise and our classes have been filled,” said Bob Craig, the director of Disposable Theatre. “Improv is valuable for any career as it helps people become more confident in front of groups, learn to think on their feet and develop a more humorous outlook on life.”
The workshops will cover the basics of improvisation; creating scenes, building your understanding of improvisation and performance games and stimulating your creativity. There will be more advanced classes offered in the future and there may be performance opportunities with Disposable Theatre.
Tuition for the workshop is $80 and space is limited to a minimum of eight and a maximum of 12 students. This class is for adults (college-age and up) only please.
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your spot in the class or to ask any questions regarding the class.
The workshops will be taught by Craig, who has been teaching, studying and performing improv for more than 20 years. He has studied at The Second City Conservatory program and at IO (formerly ImprovOlympic) and performed with Broad Shoulders Productions and TheatreSports in Chicago. Craig is the director and founder of Disposable Theatre, which is in its third year of performing in and around Northwest Indiana.
