CHESTERTON | Northwest Indiana’s improv comedy group, Disposable Theatre, is offering a six-week beginner improvisation workshop for adults beginning Sunday.
Improv 101 will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sundays through Feb. 9 at the Fourth Street Theater with a student show at Clancy’s Public House in Portage on the afternoon of Feb. 16
“The interest in our improv comedy classes has exploded, we have sold out every class this year with a waiting list,” said Bob Craig, the director of Disposable Theatre and instructor for the class. “Improv teaches skills that are valuable for any career, helps people become more confident in front of groups and how to think on their feet and develop a more humorous outlook on life.”
No experience is necessary for Improv 101. The workshops will cover the basics of improvisation: creating scenes, building your understanding of improvisation, performance games and stimulating your creativity.
Advanced games classes are offered for those who have completed the beginning class and there may be performance opportunities with Disposable Theatre at or above that level.
Tuition for the workshop is $110 and space is limited to a minimum of eight and a maximum of 12 students. This class is for adults (college-age and up) only please.
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for information on how to reserve your spot in the class or to ask any questions regarding the class.
