CHESTERTON | Disposable Theatre, an improv comedy group, is offering a six-week improvisation workshop for adults beginning on Sunday
The workshops will meet at the 4th Street Theater in Chesterton at 6 p.m. on Sunday and on May 5, May 12 and May 19 and at 7 p.m on June 2 and June 9. There will be no class Memorial Day Weekend.
“We’ve had a lot of people come up to us after our shows and ask about learning how to improvise,” said Bob Craig, the director of Disposable Theatre. “This is a great opportunity to learn improv here in Northwest Indiana without traveling to Chicago every week.”
The workshops will cover the basics of improvisation; creating scenes, building your understanding of improvisation and performance games and stimulating your creativity. There will be more advanced classes offered in the future and there may be performance opportunities with Disposable Theatre.
The six-week class is $80 and space is limited to a minimum of 8, and a maximum of 12 students.
Email Bob at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your spot in the class or to ask any questions regarding the class. This class is for adults (college-age and up) only.
The workshops will be taught by Bob Craig, who has been studying and performing improv for more than 20 years. He has studied at The Second City Conservatory program and at IO (formerly ImprovOlympic) and performed with Broad Shoulders Productions and TheatreSports in Chicago. Craig is the director and founder of Disposable Theatre. The regional improv group is in its third year of performing in and around Northwest Indiana.
The 4th Street Theater is located at 125 N. Fourth St. Visit Disposable Theatre’s website, http://disposable-theatre-improv.com/, for more information about the group and upcoming performances.
