CHESTERTON | The Duneland Family YMCA hosted its annual Fall Festival.
Children wore their costumes and festive Halloween decorations adorned both gyms, and 19 local businesses and organizations set up game booths and activities for the children to enjoy. Everyone was a winner at the Fall Festival.
Other activities included pumpkin decorating in the Fun Zone, a bounce house in the racquet ball court and hayrides that toured Morgan Park. The first one hundred arrivals were treated to free hotdogs and chips in the Community Room.
"This was an extremely fun event to coordinate, and we are the beneficiaries of an amazing community - whose many businesses and organizations came together to help the children enjoy the festivities," said Emily Hoge, Fall Festival lead staff person.
"Their generosity is amazing," she said. "In addition, 22 community volunteers helped make the two hour festival a huge success by helping with games, greeting guests, assisting with pumpkin decorating and serving up tasty treats. We couldn't have staged this without this tremendous community involvement."
