CHESTERTON | Indiana Duneland LULAC Council 5016 will host its annual scholarship luncheon from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Aug. 4 at Sand Creek Country Club, 1001 Sand Creek Drive.
Key speakers will include Iris E. Sanchez, associate director of student life & multicultural programming for Ivy Tech in East Chicago and Jesus Cervera, banking center manager for 1st Source Bank in Portage.
Scheduled to perform is the Gloria Dei Ballet Folklorico. A silent auction and 50/50 raffle will also be held with all proceeds going to the scholarship program. Silent auction items have been donated by local restaurants, stores and individuals.
Duneland LULAC Council 5016 will present scholarship awards to 7 outstanding local Hispanic students. Make reservations on or before July 30: call Barbara Sanchez at (219) 926-4313. Donation is $20 per person.
