CHESTERTON | Beginning June 10, summer will come to life at the Duneland Family YMCA during the first day of Summer Day Camp.
The camp will be themed "I am..." with each week's activities surrounding around what it takes to be an artist; responsible, caring, respectful, and honest; an athlete; an American; an optimist; a scientist; a nature explorer; a nutritionist; a leader; and a trojan.
Kids will enjoy a summer full of nature, water fun, games, weekly field trips (Dunes National Lakeshore, Railcats Baseball Game and Fair Oaks Farms), crafts, and building new friendships. Day camp is structured around activities that entice everyone's interests.
Summer Day Camp will be held June 10 to Aug. 16, Monday through Friday, with camp activities taking place beginning at 9 a.m. each morning and ending at 4 p.m. each afternoon. Extended care is available beginning at 6 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m. each day with no additional cost.
The cost per child to attend camp will be $100 weekly for members with a $50 program fee and $150 weekly for non members with a $100 program fee. Summer youth memberships are available for purchase for $84 per child and enables participants to receive the weekly member rate. Summer memberships will be valid June 1st through August 31st.
