CHESTERTON | NWI Food Swap members celebrated Cinco de Mayo in style with their second food swap event at the Chesterton Public Library.
From chocolate chip mini loaf and garlic jelly to spring snack mix and smoky blackberry salsa, participants shared their homemade goodies.
“We went from 19 attendees at our first one to 32. The interest is growing,” said Toni Snearly, who launched the group.
The next swap is planned for July with date and location to be determined. Members hope to have swaps throughout Starke, Porter, LaPorte and Lake counties at various locations.
The group is seeking donated venues for future events. Organizations or businesses wanting to offer space, should contact the group at email@example.com.
