CHESTERTON – Former Chicago Bear linebacker Matt Mayberry will be speaking at the Duneland Chamber of Commerce’s luncheon on Wednesday, February 26. The Hilton Garden Inn (located at 501 N. Gateway Blvd. in Chesterton, Indiana) will host the event, which will be held from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. Pre-registration is required.
Matt Mayberry grew up playing football in Darien, Illinois, where he embraced his role as a team leader and influencer. Later, at Indiana University Bloomington, Mayberry set sack and tackle records; earned All Big-Ten honors from a variety of media outlets; and was awarded the prestigious Howard Brown Award, which exemplifies leadership, courage and work ethic. With a 4.45 forty-yard dash, Mayberry was signed by the NFL Chicago Bears in 2010. After reaching the pinnacle of his sport, however, Mayberry suffered a life-changing ankle injury during a preseason game his first year on the team.
Realizing his professional athletic career was over, Mayberry turned to his other passion: helping others achieve excellence through coaching, training and personal development. Mayberry is now a highly sought-after motivator who brings a positive, life-changing message to Fortune 500 companies, universities, high schools, athletic organizations and community/professional groups. He has shared the stage with leadership expert Stedman Graham, who attests that “Matt’s ability to motivate, inspire, and lead people to live a healthier life, while becoming the best version of themselves, is unbelievable.”
This event is open to the public. Ticket prices are $12-$14 for Chamber members, and $16 for community members.
