CHESTERTON | Four-year-old Cameron Shutters has been battling for his life since the day he was born.
The son of Prudence Shutters, of Chesterton, Cameron has severe disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, blindness, severe mental retardation, seizure disorder, hearing impairments and other medical conditions.
A fundraiser is planned to help the family with medical expenses. He was recently diagnosed with a rare brain disorder called encephalomalacia. His brain tissue is softening and forming cysts.
Family and friends are holding this fundraiser to help defray the medical costs. The event is from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at VFW Post 2511, 1290 Wagner Road.
