CHESTERTON | Frontline Foundations’ second annual Hooked on Art Live Street Art Festival premiering on Sept. 28
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. the streets will be filled with artists demonstrating their talents at Thomas Centennial Park. Oil painters, ceramic sculptors, glass blowers, and chalk artists will showcase their unique talents and masterpieces at this outdoor family festival. The festival will include live music, an interactive Kid’s Corner, and shopping opportunities.
“Hooked on Art will be Frontline’s premier signature event in the town of Chesterton,” said Development Director Derek Frazier. “Hooked on Art is not only going to be a great community event, but a great way for Frontline to raise funds to support client treatment scholarships.”
Frontline will also host a free two-hour “3-D Chalk Art Workshop” on Sept. 27. The workshop will be hosted by international street painting artist Jennifer Chaparro and includes free chalk art materials and interactive 3-D demonstrations. The event is from 3 to 5 p.m. at Chesterton’s Library Service Center, 100 W. Indiana. Participants must register; call (219) 728-1638.
Live music throughout the day of the festival will be provided by Chicago blues legend Glenn Kaiser, Lou Shields, Jerry Clemons of the Nick Danger Band, 15UP, Peter Goodwin Bailey and Victory Garden.
