CHESTERTON | Wendy Marciniak will offer an Image Transfer Class at the Chesterton Art Center from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 23.
Marciniak will show students how easy it is to transfer images onto fabric, wood, metal, rocks and other objects. Participants will use packing tape, gesso, paint, gel medium, and water to transfer the images. Those images can then be used in mixed media projects, scrapbooking, journaling, jewelry, or as a unique way to display photos.
Students need to bring their own images, about 15 to 20 in various sizes. Images may be color copied from a toner based copier, or ink jet printed from a home printer. Black and white images are also acceptable. Images can be anything. The subject matter is up to the student. Participants should keep in mind that when copying anything with words, phrases, signs or numbers, images should be printed in mirror image mode to be readable after transferring.
The cost of the class is $30 for members of the art center, and $35 for non-members. All other supplies are included in the cost of the class. Call (219) 926-4711 to register.
The Chesterton Art Center is located at 115 S. 4th St.
