CHESTERTON | Mara Wible will teach a different jewelry class for teens ages 11-17 from 1 to 3 p.m. every Wednesday in July at the Chesterton Art Center. Supplies are included and the cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. On July 3, Wible will offer a Newspaper Necklace class where students will learn how to upcycle newspaper and magazine pages transforming them into a funky necklace.
Wire Wrapped Pendant class will be held on July 10. Students will be taught a simple technique to transform beads and wire into a pendant. On July 17, a Hemp and Bead Bracelet class will be offered. Participants will learn a new twist on macramé using fun round beads to create an accessory.
Starburst Pendant class will be offered on July 24. In this class, students will make a lightweight pendant in bright, trendy colors. On July 31, she will host a Beach Glass and Found Object Wrapped Pendant class. Participants can bring a piece of beach glass or special found object to wrap with wire, turning it into a pendant for a necklace or using it as a charm.
